What kind of remodeling work do we actually finish?
Kitchens and bathrooms make up most of it, but a fair amount of our year is whole houses taken back to studs and put back together. Filter by the kind of work you have in mind. Every job below was permitted, run and finished by us rather than handed to a subcontractor and checked on later.

Orlando kitchen remodel
Orlando, Florida
Back to the studs, then new raised panel cabinets, stone counters and large format floor tile. The drain stack and the old wiring were dealt with while the wall was open.

Ocoee, Florida
A dated tile shower rebuilt from the slab up on cement board and a rolled waterproof membrane, then tiled and closed with frameless glass. Permitted through the City of Ocoee.

Reading a portfolio
What should you look for in a contractor's portfolio?
Range, mostly. A contractor who only ever shows finished kitchens has either only ever done kitchens, or is showing you the easy half of the job. Look for whole house work in there. Look for the projects where a wall came out or a bathroom moved, because those are the ones that need a structural permit, an inspection schedule and a crew that turns up in the right order.
The other thing worth checking is whether the same company actually ran the job. Plenty of portfolios are built from work that was subcontracted out and photographed afterwards. Everything on this page was permitted under our own general contractor license, with one person coordinating the trades and walking the punch list at the end.
Photographs also flatter. A finished room looks much the same whoever built it, so ask what was behind the wall, how long the permit took, and what changed once demo started.
